River Heights Intermediate - 2017 Spring Showdown Champions.

As as the school year winds down, the JUMP club students who participated in the Spring Showdown, are riding on a high. They have been busy sharing their memories with their families, their friends, and even us. So we asked a few of them, what made the JUMP Spring Showdown so special? Here are their thoughts.

The JUMP Showdown was a great experience and I had a blast. I loved how everyone who had a passion for the medical field and professions, put in their time and effort to do the events to the best of their ability. I thought the different games and events were amazingly designed in a way that all students could use their knowledge of the medical field to compete against one another. After this incredible event I have gained ten times more knowledge in the medical field which has been something I have wanted to achieve in the future. It has given me a better perspective of what to expect when I go into high school.

I believe that the JUMP Showdown is an incredible opportunity for those interested in the medical field. You are able to meet many driven and intelligent people, who have the same goals and dreams you do, and you are also able to learn so much information from participating in the events. Although this was my first and last time participating in the Showdown, I am in awe of all my experiences. The whole process was very exciting, and I had the most fun I’ve ever had, there. I believe anyone REMOTELY interested in the medical field, should participate in the JUMP Showdown. It was truly an honor to be a part of the 1st ever JUMP Showdown, and everyone should have a chance to partake in it.

The JUMP Showdown has been one of the most life changing experiences for me. I loved everything about it and had an immense amount of fun. I learned that preparation is key. I learned how to be a “good sport.” I even learned how many sweat glands one human foot (250,000). But most importantly, I’ve learned that I have another family, besides my blood family. I have my JUMP family. The showdown brought us closer together and for that I am eternally grateful.
